Trichotillomania characterized by recurrent chronic hair pulling is an impulse control disorder which is associated with comorbid conditions. In most cases trichotillomania results in a total or partial scalp alopecia. The psychiatric comorbidity is usually seen with trichotillomania in adults. The most common psychiatric comorbidities are affective disorders, anxiety disorders, addiction disorders. The effect of trichotillomania can be quite large and serious. It has many negative effects such as either on relationships between people or causing avoid social activities. The treatment of trichotillomania usually involves participation of both psychiatrists and dermatologists. In this article, a case of a young female patient, who has applied only dermatology policlinic for many years with diagnosis of alopesia totalis and not believing being treated in result, is presented. This case has been prepared as a good example of that trichotillomania causes the depresion and the decrease on the quality of life.
