Salmonella infections in children usually present with self limiting gastroenteritis. These infections rarely affect the central nervous sytem and are usually seen under the age of 2 years. In this article, a 12-year-old male patient is presented who was admitted with the complaint of convulsions. On examination, the protein was found to be increased in the cerebrospinal fluid and no cell was observed on direct microscopy. Electroencephalogram and brain magnetic resonance imaging findings were consistent with encephalitis and the agent of encephalitis was found to be Salmonella Typhi. The case was presented in order to remind that Salmonella Typhi can be observed within encephalitis agents, albeit rarely observed.
