The aim of this study was to evaluate aerobic bacterial infections which were ocurred in febrile neutropenic patients, infectious agents and their antibiotic susceptibilies. Eighty-two febrile neutropenic attacks in 67 patients (42 male, 25 female) betvveen age 2-82 years were evaluated in this study. Two hundred and forty-nine samples were evaluated and 45 pathogen agents (21 from urine, 16 from blood, 3 from wound, 2 from throat, 2 from abcess and 1 from palate sputum) were isolated. 33.3% of these pathogens were gram-positive and 66.7% of them were gram-negative microorganisms. Escherichia coli is the most commonly isolated pathogen and than Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter cloaca, Klebsiella pneumoniae are isolated. Staphylococcus aureus was the most common organism isolated from blood. As there are differences in infectious agents and infection sites from one to another centereach çenter must define its own infectious agents, infection sites and antibiotic suscepti bilies.
