The bacterial and fungal colonisation of the hands flora of the 50 medical doctors working at the hospital of faculty of medicine and 50 dentists wor-king at the hopsital of faculty of dentist were in-vestigated.From the hands of the 7 (14%) medical doctors we determined gram negative bacterial co-lonisation but no fungus. We determined gram ne-gative colonisation from only one (2%) of the hands of the dentists who were using glovws while working and also from the hands of the dentists we could`nt derirmine fungal colonisation. We had been de-termined 20.4% gram negative and 8.6% fungal co-lonisation from the hands of the nurses that worked at the same hospital in our previous investigation. We thought that using gloves and washing hands had been decreased gram negative and fungal co-lonisation and this is very important for preventing nosocomial infections.
