1, 1.5 ve 2 yaşındaki sıçanların medulla spinalislerinin servikal, thorakal, lumbal bölümlerinde, serebellumun nukleus dentatus, nukleus globosus ve nukleus fastigi nöronlarında ve Purkinje hücrelerinde lipofussin polar, bipolar, perinükleer, ve diffuz şekillerde görüldü. Purkinje hücrelerinde ve medulla spinalisde pigment miktarı belirgin biçimde arttığı halde beyincik çekirdeklerinde bu artışın daha az olduğu tespit edildi.
