Camptodactyly is a congenital flexion deformity of the proximal interphalangial joint in the anteroposterior plane. Many factors have been claimed for its etiology and, many alternatives have been proposed for treatment. Eleven patients with an average age of 21 were treated between 1993 and 2001 and included in this study. Ali the patients had bilateral camptodactyly in the fifth finger. After releasing the skin contracture by “Z” plasty, dynamic splint was applied for both fingers in extension for approximately 6 months. The mean follow-up time was 20 mounths and there were no recurrences in any patient. Our method of treatment has no surprises tike extensive surgical treat ment and has acceptable results in selected cases.
