Due to the forgotten foreign bodies (plastic, gauze, etc.) in a variety of operations, many cases which caused to clinical symptoms long after the surgical interventions were present in the literature. However, when we examined the literature, we didn’t find any publication related with chronic discharge due to the penrose drain which fled into the abscess pouch after perianal abscess drainage. For this reason, we aimed to present our patient who complained from chronic perianal discharge in the light of current literature. A 46 years old male patients was admitted to our clinic with chronic discharge at the perianal region. He was hospitalized with the diagnosis of perianal fistula. Intraoperatively, a penrose drain which used for drainage the wound area and forgotten at the previous surgical intervention was determined at the abscess pouch and clinical symptoms were related to this forgotten drain. Chronic discharge due to the foreign bodies such as forgotten penrose drains should be kept in mind in patients who were exposed to the previous surgery
