Fasciola hepatica (FH) is a parasitical disease mostly concerns
the veterinary medicine but sometimes accidentally infests humans.
It’s generally seen in some parts of the world especially in tropical
and developing countries but the incidence is increasing day by
day all over the world due to increased facility of intercontinental
transportation and immigration. Liver and biliary tree is the final
target site for the parasite. The clinical presentation varies from basic
biliary colic to jaundice and even complicated cholangitis leading
death. Low level of knowledge about the disease, especially in the
non-endemic areas, leads delayed diagnosis and therapy. Prompt
evaluation and therapy of the patient is the corner stone of the
success. Herein, we discuss a case of biliary obstruction due to FH
from presentation to therapy including ERCP and cholecystectomy in
the guidance of the literature.
