In this study anaerobic cultures of the specimens which were taken from hospitalized patients with suspicion of anaerobic infection were made. From 22 of the 84 specimens 23 anaerobic bacteria were isolated. 19 of them were pure anaerop and 3 of them were mix cultures (aerop+anaerop). of the 9 anaerobic bacteria which were isolated from pa-tients with pelvic inflamatuar disease 5 were gram positive anaerobic cocci, 2 were Bacteroides, 1 was Fusohacterium and 1 was Propionibacterium. Of the 5 anaerobic hacteriae which were isolated from the cul-de-sac of 51 infertility patients with la-parascopy, 3 were Peptostreptococci, 1 was Pro-pionibacterium, I was anaerobic Lactobacillus. From 2 anaerobes isolated from one douglas abs-cess one was Propionibacterium and the other was Peptostreptococcus. From 5 pleuropulmonary in-fections 2 Peptostreptococci and from 3 wand in-fections 1 Peptostreptoccoccus and I Clostridium were isolated. From one gingivitis Pep-tostreptococcus, from one necrotizing fasclitis Pep-tostreptococcus were isolated. 10 of the anaerobic hacteriae were idantified by API 20A system; 4 ana-erobes as P. intermedius, 2 anaerobes as P. niger, 1 anaerop as Ljensenii, I anaerop as F. mortiferum, I anaerop as 4 C. butyricum. One Gram positive coccus couldn't he identified by API 20A system.
