Between August 1969 and August 1981 105 patients with breast car-cinoma were operated on at the General Surgery Department of Medical Faculty of Diyarbakır University. We studied the case noter of these pa-tients. There were 98 female and 7 male patients. Radical mastectomy was performed on 93 patients, and simple mastectomy on 12 cases. Dur-ing the postoperative period, there were 3 deaths in 105 patients with bre-ast carcinoma. The mortality rate was 2.8 percent.
