The most important purpose of anesthesia application in skull base and craniofacial interventions is to maintain hemodynamic stability during the surgical procedure, to prevent an increase in intracranial pressure, or even to decrease it, making it easier for the surgeon to work. Such attempts are often aimed at opening the diary mater and removing the intracranial lesion. Therefore, the anesthesiologist should be aware of neurosurgical techniques and complications. Our aim is to provide neurophysiological information on the subject, to review the effects of anesthetic agents on brain metabolism and vascular structures, and to determine the precautions that can be taken.
