Infravesical obstruction as a result of acute üretral stricture was a common pathology in males and a rare pathology in female. İt developed secondary to infection and trauma. İt gain importance because by preventing urine flovv it produce upper urinary tract damage. İn our clinic a total of 243 patients with a mean age of 58 years have shown to have üretral stricture during last 10 years. We benifit from their physical examination, retrograde uretherografhy, IVP+postvoiding cystogram, ultrasonography and uretherography. İnternal urethrotomy was applied for 150 patients, bladder neck TUR for 36 patients, urethroplasty for 6 patients and rail-road urethroplasty for 3 patients. Four years of follovv up shovved recurrent urethral narrovving in 60% of patient internal urethrotomy, 6 montly dilatation in 75% of patients vvith urehral dilatation, recurrent narrovving in 10% of patients vvith bladder neck TUR and internal urethrotomi in 60% of patients vvith rail-road uretroplasty. Inspite of a new developed techniçues for urethral stricture it keep its recurrent, narrovving especialty which recquires continous follovv up.
