Twenty patients who admitted our clinic for open heart surgery were performed cardiac output measurement by thermodilution and Fick methods preoperatively. There was no significant difference between two methods. Thus it is suggested that the Fick method remains most favorable in open heart surgery since it is a simple, economic and quickly performable procedure.
