A successful batista operation in treatment of end-stage heart failure

A successful partial left ventriculectomy and mitral valve replacement (Batista) operation with 31 No Sorin prosthetic valve performed to a 45 year old female patient for end-stage heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy (class IV NYHA) which occured secondary to mitral valve disease and was resistant to ali medications. Postoperative control echocardiography revealed a 15-20% increase in the ejection fraction (with simps method) in comparison with preoperative echocardiography. The severe heart failure symptoms of the patient recovered and she is discharged in the 1&h d ay.
