41 patients with retroperitoneal mass were ope-rated in the Selcuk University medical Faculty Uro-logy' Clinic between 1984-1994. For 15 patients midline approach, for 11 patients paramedical app-roach, for 10 patients ntodllied thoracoabdominal approach, for 4 patients subcostal flank approach were applied_ Surgical tipproaches. early ambulation, mor-bidity, days of hospitilization, early and late comp-lications due to incision were evaluated. More succesfill results are obtained with 1110- dified ihOraCOabdOillinal approach titan other app-roaches for retroperitoneal amasses.
