Congenital pulmonary arterio-venous fistulas

                Two patients have been operated tor pulmonary arteriovenous fistula at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, School of Medicine, University of Selçuk, Konya. The patients were adults, 49 and 62 years-old. Fistules were localized in the right lower lobe in first one and in the right upper lobe in second. The type of the operation was lobectomy in both cases. Among our patients with pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas, hereditary hemorrhagic telengiectasia was not observed. İn this article, the pathogenesis, clinical features, pathophysiologic changes, and treatment of pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas are discussed.
