Evaluation of Spring-water in Evliyatekke Vil-lage in Hatunsaray Town of Konya District

Bathing with the water containing suiphure has succesful effects in pruritic dermal lesions. Being ex-posed to its vapour or ingestion may cause collaps, coma and death. Even in low doses of sulphure may cause irritation in mucosa and adverse effects. The acidic characteristic of this water is the main cause of the irritation in mucosa. High levels of organic substance and ammonium show discontinued nit-rification of the water. The water containing organic substances may cause intestinal infections. The absence of protective area may increase ammonium concentration and total organic substance. High chlorine con-centration confirms that the water is contaminated with the urine of human beings or animals.
