Free radicals derived fi-om molecular oxygen are receiving particular attention irı medicine. Skin as a sit,• of ()Aygen radical production is a target organ for their &imaging properties. In this review the desen-prim'r of radical oxygen species and their ef-fects on skin is presented, antioxidant defence ince-hanisms and possible novel therapeutic antioxidant agents are mentioned.
