Peptides belonging to the pituitary hormones Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and Melanophore Stimulan Honnon (ot, B-MSH) are briefly described as MELANOCORTINE PEPTIDs. The amino acid chains of these hormones are contained in the large precursor polypeptide proopiomelanocortin (POMC) molecule in the biologically inactive messenger along with endorphins. Full chain of ot, B-MSH and ACTH1_36 has been added in the POMC molecule.
