Between 1987-1995, seven patients with pe-netrating cardiac ınjury were presented and the iın-portance of urgent surgeıy and pericardiocentesis were emphasized. In cardiac injuıy, pericardiocentesis is in-sufficient. thoracotomy should be prinıarly per-formed in order to relieve tomponade and control bleeding.
