At'this study serum Mg levels of myocardial in-farction (n: 30) and paroxysınal supraventricular tachycardia (n: 30) vere coınpared with healthy con-trol subjects (n: 20). Mean serum Mg levels (mg1d1) vere 1.8 ± 0.3, 1.7 ± 0.4, 1.8 ± 0.2 respectively. There was no staüstically significant difference among groıps (p>0.05). Frequency of hypomagnese-mia was 10% (n: 2) for the control group, 13.3% (n: 4) for patients with acute ınıocardial infarction and 23.3% (n: 7) (p<0,05 ) for patients with supraventric-ular tachycardia. These results imply that hypomag-nesemia could Alay an important role at the genesis of suprave ntricular tachycardia.
