Subclinical Vestibular Disfunction in Diabetes Mellitus

Conventional bitermal caloric test was done in the 28 patients who hac not any complaints about vertigo and any other vestibular findings. Slow phase maximum velocities of caloric induced nistagmus were measured and statistically evaluated. Vestibular hipofunction was notable in the diabetics. This result suggested that vestibular subclinical disfunction was cronically developed in the diabetics and this condition allowed to compansate it. So these patients might be free from the complaint of vertigo.
