Biochemically &geren, five suture materials were used in five groups each of with including 10 rats. The animals were sacrıfied at 10th day and the adhesions were evaluated macroscopically and histologically. The adhesions in silk and chromic catgut groups were more :han pro- len, vicryl and plain catgut groups and it was signıficant statistically (p<0.01). There was no significant difierent between other groups.
