Turban pin aspiration

Between January 1990 and December 1995, 39 patients applied to Thoracic and Cardiovascular-Surgery Department, Faculty of Medicine Selcuk University with the complain of turban pin's as-piration. All the patients were female and most of them were between 11 and 20 years age. Diagnosis dependent on anamnesis and posteroanterior chest x ray. Rigid bronchoscopy was performed except 6 pa-tients. 4 of them exhausted their foreign bodies spontaneously and in 2 of them foreign bodies was recognized to swallowed into gastrointestinal tract. Five patients were succesfUlly treated by rigid bronchoscopy together with fluoroscopy without complication.
