Acne vulgaris patients have several psycho-social problems because of lesion localization and seconder problems. There are several alternative treatment modalities in acne vulgaris. One of these, for example, isotretinoin is used for moderate or severe acne vulgaris. There are several studies in the literature about quality of life in dermatology patients. However, there are still need for other studies about acne vulgaris patients who are using isotretinoin for treatment. Aim of this study is to assess the quality of life in acne vulgaris patients who are treated with isotretinoin. Visual Analog Scale and Dermatology Life Quality Index were applied and compared for patients treated with isotretinoin at the beginning, 3rd and 6th months of the treatment. Both Visual Analog Scale and Dermatology Life Quality Index were decreased among patients with significant statistical importance. Consequently systemic isotretinoin treatment is effective for clinical healing and increase the quality of life for patients.
