This search was made in the coronary care unit of medical faculty of Selciik University between 1988 and 1991. 434 cases were therapied and ob-served. The aim of this research was to examine the factors which cause atrial _fibrillation and its effect on prognosis. While atrial fibrillation out of 434 cases occured in 53 patients (12%) in 41 of them (77%). AF oc-cured in Mil in the first 24 hours. Sinusal rythm re-versed spontaneously in 33 cases of (62%) in flue first two hours. In the old cases who had a preYeiosus myo-cardial infarction history it was observed that AF was more frequent and it was an important factor in the development of atrial infarction. The cardiac enzvm values were high in the cases who went in to AF as to the ones who dindn't into AF. In 24 of the patient didn't have, AF the cardiac failure were accompanying to the congestive car-diac failure. It was concluded that it was to the hemodynantic disorder which was caused by the width of necrosis area more than AF itself, despite increasing the hospital mortalty.
