Benign Uterine Mullerian Cyst Operated With Preoperative Diagnosis Of Right Ovarian Cyst

Benign cysts of Mullerian type present as pelvic mass in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women mimicking ovarian malignancy. Herein, a case of benign uterine mullerien cyst detected in a woman with postmenopausal uterine bleeding resistant to medical treatment and operated with a preoperative diagnosis of right ovarian simple cyst is presented. Differential diagnosis is also discussed. Sixty two years old postmenopausal woman presented with complaint of abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. A cystic mass of 4x3 cms thougth to be originated from right ovary was determined on pelvic ultrasound. The patient with postmenopausal uterine bleeding resistant to medical treatment of 6 months given before went to surgery with a preoperative diagnosis of right ovarian simple cyst. After pathologic examination, the cyst was diagnosed as benign uterine mullerien cyst.
