Radiotherapy or radiochemotherpy as applied to 152 patients with locally advanced bladder cancer following transurethral tumor resection. Complete response rate was 71%, the 5- year survival 65%. The success of the initial transurethral resection was found to be the most important factor the 5-year sur-vival. Organ sparing radiotherapy/ radiochemotherapy is in the treatment of bladder cancer at least an equ-ally efficient method like radical cystectomy and should be the method of choice.
