A previously well 20 years old girl presented with sudden chest pain. After lett sided pleuresy diagnosed, thoracocentesis was performed. The appearance of fluid was turbiddy and exudative features were confirmed by biochernical tests. Although bacteriologic tests were negative, antibacterial therapy was applied. By Computerized Tomoraphy scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging cardiac cyst hydatid was identified and twa dimensional echocardiograpy confirmed the diagnosis. We applied medical antihelmintic treatmerıt of Albendazole and 2 months later control examinations indicated partially resolufion of pleural effusion. We consider there is existing a localizational relationship between cardiac cyst hydatid and pleural effusion. Possibfy, the turbiddy appearance of pleural fluid is due ta development of seconder infection.
