CAUSES OF CHOLECSTECTOMY AND COLLEDOC EXPLORATION

In this article, results of 750 cases who underwent choledochus exploration with cholecystectomy or cholecystectomy in our clinic are presented. In 549 (73.2%) of our cases, chronic cholecystitis, 150 (O 20) acute cholecystitis, 34 (4.5%) had gallbladder injury, 9 (1.2%) were due to gallbladder cancer and 8 (1%) , 1) cholecystectomy was performed for other reasons. Common bile duct exploration was performed in 150 cases (20%) for various reasons. Various postoperative complications were detected in 80 (11.1%) of 720 surviving patients who recovered with medical or surgical treatment. 30 of 750 patients died in the postoperative period, with a mortality rate of 4%. 7 (1.2%) of 556 patients who underwent cholecystectomy for chronic cholecystitis with and without stones died.
