Several studies have shown that infarct size is re-duced after trombolytic treatement in patients with acute myocardial infarction. The present study was pelformed to compare clinical and laboratory results in acute myocardial infarction patients following ei-ther intravenous thrombolysis or plasebo in our Co-ronary Care Unite. We peiformed intravenous strep-tokinase (n=46) within 6 hours from onset of chest hain. Total hospitalization days were not changed between patients with thrombolytic treatement and Placebo (10±4 gün vs 11 ±5 gün, p<0.304, respectively). CK-MB started significantly to change after 6 hours (176±138 mgldl, p<0.01). CPK, reached its peak level within 12 hours after thrombolytic treate-ment. SGOT, SGPT and LDII begun significantly change within 18 hours after thrombolytic treate-ment. Cholesterol, trigliserit, LDL were not changed significantly. But HDL increased significantly in pa-tients with thrombolytic treatement within 18 hours after thrombolytic treatment.
