Objective: The compare the effect of salpingo-oopherectomy and adnexial detorsion on the lungs of the rats which have experimentally tvvisted adnex. Material and Method: 28 wistar female rats randomly selected and divided into four groups. The group 1 is detorsioned and the group 2 has salpingo-oopherectomy 24 hours after adnexial torsion.The other group had laparatomy (group3) and the rest had only anesthesia. Twenthfour hours after the second procedure ali the rats decapitatedand their lungs evaluated microscopically and macroscopically. Findings: The detorsioned group has more pathological microscopic and macroscopic changes meaningfully. Result: Detorsion procedure incrases the pathologic macroscopic and microscopic changes at the lung
