Preliminary diagnoses of 118 patients who applied to our cytogenetics laboratory between 1.1.1988 - 31.1.1989 and the results of the cytogenetic findings were evaluated with the clinic they were sent to. Of the 118 cases examined, 21 of them had Mongolism, 1 of them had Turner syndrome, 3 of them had sexual development disorders, and 2 of them had karyotypic findings suitable for Fanconi Aplastic Anemia. The role of the cytogenetics laboratory in the diagnosis of diseases with chromosomal disorders and the prevalence of these diseases are discussed in the light of the literature.
