DEEP NECK INFECTIONS

Deep neck infection (DNI) used to manifest itself with a lethal compliactions when early diagnosis and treatment was ignored. Although, the advent of antibiotics has reduced considerably the incidence of overall number of deep neck infections. However, insufficient cure of infection of concerned tissue or the USC of inappropriate antibiotic treatment can mask the DNI related symptoms and findings. In this report, we are presenting a case tha was admitted to our clinic with a gastrointestinal hemorrhage and Iater her deep neck infection was diagnosed. The pus was drained out and treated with appropriate antibiotic regiment.
