Effects of short-term perindopril therapy on cardiac function and left ventricular hypertrophy was assesed in patients with primer hypertension. The study population was consisted with 35 patients (mean age 485+ years, 15 female and 20 male). Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) and Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) decreased significantly (88 5 mmllg vs 107±6 mmlig, p<0.05). Left ventricular mass decreased significantly from 245±16 gr to 2370 gr (pc0.05). There were no change in systolic and diastolic left ventricular fiınctions by using Doppler and M-mode Echocardiography. There were no obvious side effects due to perindopril therapy.
