This investigation was performed in Mic-robiology Laboratory of Diyarbakir State Hospital in 1994. We isolated 172 aerob bacteria from urine specimens and investigated antibacterial sensitivity. The bacteria which were investigated as follows: E. coli 128, S. aureus 24 and the other bacteria 20. The sensitivity of isolated agents to imipenem (1PM), ciprofloxacin (CIP), ofloxacin (OFX), nor-foxacin (NOR), cefataxime (CXM), amoxicilline-clavulanat (AMC), (CTX) and ceftazidime (CAZ) were investigated by Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. According to antibiotic susceptibility test the resistance was observed to !PM 1.16 %. CIP 14.53 %, OFX 15.69 %, NOR 17.44 %, CTX 22.67%, AMC 23.83 % CXM 40.69% and CAZ 40.69 %. The difference between Quinolones and Third Generation Cephalosporines were sta-tistically meaningtiil (p<0.001). We suggested this study guedlines for empirical antibiotic treatment in urinary tract infections.
