Endoscopic dilatation in infantile achalosia

Esophageal achalasia in childhood especially in whom below one year of age is a rare lesion and difficult to diag- nose. An 11 months age female infant has been treated successfully by pneumatic dilatation, after returning of the esophagus to it’s normal calibre there was no complications seen in the barium study that performed later. After a follow up period of 12 months there was no vomiting or feeding problems or recurrence of the achalasia.
