Evaluation of Neurogenic Tumors of Adult in Thorax

Neurogenic tumors ocur at all part of the body but most common site is the posterior mediastinum in thorax. In this study, the patients with neurogenic tumor were evaluated clinical and radiological signs in our hospital between January 1999 and December 2003. Of thirty patients were (11 male and 19 female) their range aged from 20 to 70 mean 41.7±11.8. Histological types were 17 (%57) neurofibromas. 7(23%) schwannomas, 4(13%) ganglioneurinomas, 2(7%) malign schwannomas. Twenty-four (80%) of neurogenic tumors were in posterior mediastinum and the others were in different areas in thorax.
