Many factors including preoperative deviation, axial length of the eye, refractive errors, age of the patient ete. can influence the response to horizontal strabismus surgery. We analysed the results of strabismus surgery in 65 patients with esotropia. Our results revealed that main factor influencing the surgical outcome was the preoperative deviation. We conclude that preoperative deviation is to be the strongest predictor for response to strabismus surgery for esotropic patients.
