Pericardial drainage is the best method of treatment of patients whose general conditions are extrem,ely poor. In such patients surgical operation is too difficuit and spreading of infection to surrounding tissues is unavoidable. During pericardiocentesis, examination of pericardium can not be made and taking of tissue samples for histopathoiogicai diag-nosis is irrıpossible. In view of the superiority of the method sa far as above - mentioned hindrances are concerned, we have perform,ed pericardial drainage in 5 ca.ses with excellent results.
