Cardiogenic shock is an emergency clinical state which is usually due to delile myocardial infarction and clzaracterized by hipoperfusion of vital organs. If the management isn'i on time- and isn't enough, patients with cardiogenic shock commonly die. Fortunately: IABC, by alleviating coroner circulation and left ventricular functions, can give the the chance ,fo• interventional cardiac procedures such as cardiac catheterization and revasvcularization. While generally accepted mortality rate is at least 60-70% in car-diogenic shock, it can be decreased with optimal IABC and revascularizarion. On the other hand, emergency PTCA in patients with acute myocardial infarction decreased the incidence of hospital mortality and cardiogenic shock. The design of this review is to investigate the clinical landnuırks• IABC and the efficacy of IABC, alone ör together with newer intervetztional cardiac procedures, on disease states that could cause cardiogenic shock.
