Microorganisms isolated from sinüs aspiration specimens of cases with chronic sinusitis

Specimens obtained with sinüs aspiration from 21 patients with chronic sinusitis were microbiologically examined. Fifteen microorganisms from 10 (47.6%) patients were isolated as causative agents. From the samples of five patients only one type of microorganism isolated but from the samples of the other patients 2 different types of microorganisms isolated. 12 Of the microorganisms isolated were identified aerobes, 2 of them as yeasts and one of them anaerobe. Bacterias were İdentified as alpha hemolytic Streptococcus, Neisseria spp., Diphteroid rod, Streptococcus pneumoniae, coagulase negative Staphylococcus, Enterobacter cloacae, Proteus mirabilis and fungus were Candida albicans.
