Although the dental urch is generally symmetric, some cases of both mathematically and morp-hologieally deviated Pons have been reported. Irı our study,we aimed ta investigate the morphological pattern of dental ardı in adult maks and females. Using plaster casts, we peıformed our examination on 50 peoplc (25 males and 25 females, ranging from 17 to 35 years of ages), who had no anomalies or disorders of maxilla and mandible, and had no previous or CUITC111 dental treatmems. The results revealed that the width of the first intermolars in mandibles was significantly different between sexes (the value of the first intetınolar width in mandibles was largeı- in males, p<0..05). There vere no sig-nificant differences in the other nıorphological .fe-atures examined.We. therefore believe that both the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the size and shape of the dental arch is especially important j'or the diagnosis, treatment and determination of the developnıental differences in dentistry.
