Magnetic resonance imaging provides high contrast, anatomic delineation of the neck and is useful for preoperative localization of abnormal parathyroid glands in patients with persistent or recurrent hyperparathyroidism. Magnetic resonance imaging findings of the parathyroid masses are reported in three patients with hyperparathyroidism.
