The indications, age and mortality rate in a re-cent 8-vear eıperience with 150 nephrectomies reveiwed. Chronic pyelonephritis is the most .frequent condition (38 per cent) requiring nephec-tom•. Renal tıonor is the thinl frequent cause (14 per cent). Of 150 cases 98 were mıde, 52 }vere fe-male. The over-all mortalite rate was 1.33 per cent but was almost nil in the absence of malignancy.
