in this study, we rewieved 95 patients with uri-nary tract stone that had been treated in Dicle Univer-sity Medical Faculty Urology Clinic between the years of 1984-1988 and 136 patients with urinary tract stone that had been treated in Selçuk University Medical Faculty Urology Clinic between the years of 1983-1992. %73 of the patients were males and %44.5 of them were 0 to 5 years old. The stones were found mostly in kidneys (%53 .9) and bladder (%21 ). Urinary tract infection was found in %78 of the patients with stone. Causative microorganism were E.coli (%59), pseudomonas (%17) and streptococcus faecalis (%13.3). in order to show the relation between stone and infection, the patients were divided into two groups according to the existance of infection. The two groups were studied with respect to the age, sex, lo-calization, hiochemical analysis, pre and post opera-tion urine cultures. It is concluded that the above parameters were ef-fective in the development of infection in patients with urinary tract stone. It is also concluded that the infection site was not effective in the localization of the stne.
