Pollicization technique in bilateral aplasia of the thumb

Pollicization of the middle finger in a 3 year old boy with bilateral aplasia of the thumb, which is a rare condition, was performed with success. Application of a meticulous microsurgical technique and close follow-up with good rehabilitation regained the patient pinch and grasp functions together with an esthetically more reasonable hand.
