In University of Selçuk, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgery, 8 cases operated with diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism between 1986-1992 were presented. The level of the serum calcium and parathormon were high in 7 cases. Except one case, the level of serum creatinin were normal. In preoperative period, it was found enlarged one parathyroid gland by US in 2 cases and by US+CT in 5 cases. It was not found any enlarged parathyroid gland in one case. It was performed parathyroid gland excision in 7 cases considered as adenoma and also performed subtotal thyroidectomy in 3 cases with nodular goitre. In one case considered as hyperplasia, it was performed subtotal parathyroidectomy by exicision of 3 112 parathyroid glands. The results of hystopathologic studies were benign in all cases.
