A pulmonary sequestration is a segment or lobe of lung tissue that has no bronchial communication with the normal tracheobronchial tree. The arterial blood supply is from a systemic vessel. Both ext-ralober and intralober varietes have been re-cognised and while believed to have a common emb-ryologic origin.
