Reconstruction of columella with angulary artery pediculated skin island flap

Many different aproaches were reported for the reconstruction of columella defects that local flaps through microvascular tissue transfer. There was a columella defects in 22 years old male patient because of the explo- sion of bomb and the reconstruction was not thought by a local flap owing to large scar tissues next to the defect. After the dissectlon of wide adhesion of the septum nasi spongostan tampons were put into new plane. Then 2x1,5 cm diameter skin island flap with angular artery pedicul was prepared on the right nasolabial skin and transferred to the defect in order to the reconstruction of columella. The flap was folded and sutured. İt was made the flap thin by defatting 3 weeks later. The result was acceptable aesthetically. The results and short operative time for this flap were thought us that it is an alternatlve to the microvascular reconstruction and morbidity of the donor area was acceptable.
